While watching “ways of seeing” starring John Berger I was able to find two things that made me question and inform me on how I look at art. First was how the use of a camera has the ability to change how people perceive things. “ the camera reproduces it, making it available in any size anywhere, for any purpose.” this ability of the camera allows people to see centuries old paintings in a new light. Instead of having the painting in one place unable to be seen by the masses, but know we are able to see these works of masterpiece in our own homes. Which allows the meaning to be transmittable allowing for newer  arguments and discussion. With the ability to make new meanings the camera allows for the painting to be either looked at in greater detail or as a massive landscape. Postmodernism Project

This piece of art uses different aspects to make your eyes travel along the art work. The cars are used as implied lines to take the viewers eyes to the next car and as soon as the page ends the paint comes into play and acts as if the cars are racing on a track. The vocal point is the Car mash-up where all the generations of cars are on top of each other, adding progression within the mashup leading with the brush strokes to the arrow at  the end symbolizing further production. The color scheme matches the cars in the the mashup which shows the significance to keep the originality of the cars. lastly, the brush strokes in the top part of the work give off an accurate impression of a race track.

Postmodernism

Postmodernism is that era of art that we all live in today. With the world changing at a rapid rate from the old school ways of things, to the new way of  free expression and no rules lifestyles that we all live. Postmodernism is labeled as a time that we currently live in that allows us to knock down the barriers of unneeded traditions of all cultures for example in this new era we are able to date whom we see fit because in this day in age we are allowed to have our own set of morals that we create ourselves. In the article the author talks about how cultures are being split up into sub cultures, a point that i thought was interesting was “ The explosion of new communications technologies and the continuing fragmentation of cultures into thousands of little cultures has forced us to view our world as simultaneously expanding and shrinking.” This quote was very compelling because it makes you think about how the world is yes shrinking because of all the advances in technology ...
